B Bryce Barcelo
Hey, I'm Bryce Barcelo, the founder of Barcelo Law. I counsel clients on intellectual property licensing, funding, insurance, litigation, and acquisition strategies.

EDUCATION
I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a J.D. from The University of Houston Law Center.

EXPERIENCE
Before I started Barcelo Law, I spent more than a decade at Susman Godfrey, one of the country’s premier litigation boutiques where we litigated complex, high-stakes intellectual property cases. Often representing “mom and pop” plaintiffs versus tech-sector goliaths and other Fortune 100 companies, in complex, bet-the-company style suits, we achieved resounding success—more than $900M in verdicts—on behalf of our clients.

After my time with Susman, I moved to Certum Group, where I led Certum's first IP investment round, with a heavy focus on patent litigation and acquisitions. Coupled with my experience in the country’s top patent jurisdictions, including the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, District of Delaware, and the Northern District of California, my experience is attuned to modern patent litigation.

I've been recognized by The National Law Journal, Law360, Lawdragon, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, TopVerdict, and The Texas Lawyer. I am also a professor at The University of Houston Law Center where I teach a class titled The Procedure of Patent Litigation to second- and third-year law students and LLM students, providing the next generation of lawyers with both theoretical and practical understandings on the lifecycle of a patent suit.

Prior to my legal career, I was a rocket engineer and oversaw the development and implementation of critical lift-off instrumentation for the Delta IV Heavy expendable heavy-lift launch vehicle for the NROL-49 mission at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California.
